Jamie is a GE-trained Six Sigma Black Belt with a diverse background in healthcare and business, including fifteen years as an orthopedic surgical consultant, radiology PACS/RIS process improvement specialist, business continuance/DR solution architect, and founder of an IT services company in Shanghai, China.  Jamie is a licensed Commercial Pilot with over 1,000 hours and has unique expertise in the application of checklists to the reduction of medical errors.   Jamie served on the Center for Improving Value in Health Care “Care Transitions Task Force” and is a frequent speaker on the creation of patient value through enhanced organizational efficiency.

Wray Paul, Master Black Belt & VP of Professional Services

Wray Paul is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Electrical & Chemical Engineer, MSE, PMP, and MBA with over 35 years in quality and process improvement.  Prior to joining SigmaMed, Wray administered a variety of departments at an integrated Colorado mountain hospital, while overseeing all Quality and PI efforts as their Lean Master Black Belt.  He has worked for some of the world’s largest health care corporations in process improvement and software development roles, and spent several years at First Consulting, where he specialized in turning around failing EMR/PACs/RIS implementations through application of the Lean Six Sigma methodology.  He has a breadth and depth of experience that few, if any, Lean Six Sigma Healthcare consultants possess.

Jeff Hopkins, Central Region Director

Jeff, who lives in a small town outside Columbia, Missouri, has over 33 years healthcare management experience including hospital executive leadership, personnel management, development of leadership/mentoring programs, marketing and contract management. Jeff spent five years at the Wyoming State Office of Rural Health, where he directed federal grants, awarded and managed state grants to Rural Health Clinics, FQHCs, and Critical Access Hospitals, and consulted with legislators and rural healthcare providers to address areas of greatest need in the state. Jeff dedicated twenty-seven years to the Air Force medical service, achieving the highest elisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant, limited to 1% of enlisted personnel attain, and finished his career as the Optometry/Ophthalmology Technical Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General.
